Fretboard woods: Maple vs Rosewood

Are there any differences in sound between maple and rosewood fretboards? When it comes to players opinions and preferences, this is one of the most discussed topic ever!
Someone firmly believe that the difference is clear and audible, someone else says it's just a myth and it's more a matter of feeling.
I had the chance to directly experiment with this a while back, when I was putting together my custom "partscaster", so I decided to do record some sound samples.

Both necks were mounted on the same body and recorded with the same amp settings.

Specs list:
Body: telecaster Swamp ash
Pickups: Texas special
Bridge: Callaham

Neck 2: one piece maple, from a 1992 MIM telecaster
Strings: D'Addario .010 - .046 (pretty old and dirty)
Amp: Marshall 2204 (with reduced brightness mod)
Cabinet: Marshall 1936 with G12H30 speakers
Recorder: zoom H2
